The Neighbors, Inc. Board of Directors has announced Dawn Wambeke as its next Executive Director. Dawn will officially join Neighbors on Monday, June 12.

“Dawn’s enthusiasm about our mission and her experience developing and implementing strategic plans gave the search committee confidence that she was the right person to lead Neighbors,” said Beth Baumann, Neighbors’ Board Chair.

Dawn has 23 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector, including serving as the Executive Director of Advance Opportunities, a Marshall, MN based non-profit organization providing employment and training for adults with developmental disabilities, and directing and managing economic empowerment programs for Twin Cities-based organizations CAPI USA, Pillsbury United Communities and Emerge. Dawn’s skills and experience include program administration, board development, policy development, capital campaigns, grant writing and strategic planning.

“I am absolutely honored and thrilled to serve Neighbors as the next Executive Director! I am greatly looking forward to getting to know the staff, volunteers and community to work together collaboratively to build upon the incredible foundation that Neighbors and its supporters have established over the past 51 years,” Dawn said.

Dawn graduated from Southwest State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and received a mini MBA for Nonprofit Organizations from the University of St. Thomas.
